Originally known as Eleven Park Walk, "Aubergine" came to prominence in 1995 when it won its first Michelin Star under Gordon Ramsay. Acclaimed chefs Marcus Wareing, Mark Sargeant, Mark Askew, Angela Hartnett and Andy Needham (now Head Chef at Zafferano) have all passed through the Aubergine kitchen since that time.
In July 1998 Gordon Ramsay left Aubergine and William Drabble took the helm on 1st September 1998 and has, due to his culinary prowess, retained the Michelin star and four AA Rosettes since.
His combination of classical French training, love and understanding of British produce has enabled William to create a delicious and captivating menu from a chef who truly understands the seasonality of gastronomy.
Under Drabble's direction, Aubergine has received some of the highest accolades in the restaurant industry, including: 'Grand Prix of Gastronomy' at The British Academy of Gastronomes ceremony 2006; 'Best Set lunch' at the Tatler Restaurant Awards 2005; and 'Best Front of House' at the Harpers & Moët 2004 awards.
London Fine Dining Group opened a country outpost "Aubergine at The Compleat Angler" on 1st October 2008 as a sister restaurant to the London original. Within its first 3 months of opening, Aubergine at The Compleat Angler was awarded 3 AA Rosettes.
Aubergine's French fine dining is the epitome of originality, whether being prepared for private jets owned by A-list celebrities, or hampers for Royalty to take to events of the Season.
